- SRT AND PATROL DOG -

SRT and Patrol dogs Four Winds offers also high quality patrol and SRT dogs.

We distinguish two types of patrol dogs:
• Standard patrol dog
• Special response team - SWAT team dogs

The standard patrol dog is mainly used in America in combination with narcotics detection and tracking human scent. The dogs are used to assist in the arrest of a suspect, search and locate a suspect in a building or area and the dogs are also used during resistance of the suspect.

All our dogs have a good bite and are trained to bite on arms and legs. At our training center and at several other locations we teach the dogs building and area search. The dogs are trained to locate the suspect (decoy) and it depends on the request of the customer if we teach the dogs to bite or to hold & bark (reviering).

The dogs are trained for the following:
• Loose on command and return to the handler
• Transport and escort of a suspect
• To stay in position during the search of a suspect
• Hold and bark (reviering) of a suspect
• Recall after withdrawal or surrender of the suspect
• Fail Attack (reviering on distance) after withdrawal or surrender of the suspect

Our patrol dogs can be certified by the IPWDA also.

The Special response team dogs are used in strong resistance from suspects, hostage situations, terrorist threats and war. The SRT dog is only used in case of high alarms. Often the SRT dogs are used as the only possible option to keep the suspect alive. Especially in situations of war and terror is often important that the suspect is alive to obtain further information.

The SRT dogs have an extremely heavy and powerful bite. The attack speed is so extremely high that the suspect is not able to do anything anymore. The SRT dogs have no fear and will take all possibility to rule out the suspect. However, the SRT dog must also be social and above all stabile. The dogs work in a team and should be able to keep controlled well. They should also be extremely quiet and should be able to wait long. Of course, these dogs are specially trained, but naturally, the dog has exceptional qualities. The dogs are trained by us to a very high level of obedience in which we use a lot of hand signals.
